I see “healthy debates” are welcome. So here goes. In advance of last Sundays advertised “Meet the candidates” debate at the Ohope Charter Club venue but run by the Ohope Lions Club I emailed, well in advance and after speaking to the Manager as well, a simple attachment with a simple question included that was to be directed at each of the assembled candidates This basic process was not completed by someone or someones. Either it is the Ohope Charter Club or the Ohope Lions Club?? Either way and put simply the normal democratic process of Meet the candidates that normally contain open and free Question and Answer sessions was interfered with, ignored perhaps. So to Candidate Hamill We have met. Tell us what you think happened as you know people who can help you so we can see your levels of commitment to the Community at a time you are seeking our support at the Polls

Ohope Beach Public Meeting Tomorrow 28/8/22
To the assembled Ohope Beach voters and interested attendees
Sunday 27/8/22
With regard to tomorrows belatedly advertised Local Government “Meet the Candidates” event in Bluett Road, Ohope Beach and my only just finding out about it
Whilst I would really like to attend, I am not allowed in the Ohope Charter Club or “the jug” as I have called the Ohope Chartered Club for decades due to the violence that has occurred including one I have been forced to break up. Pool cues being the example. Alcohol is a drug no less and it causes much harm in our community. As do the pokies.
Additionally, and now to the co-providers of tomorrow’s meeting The Ohope Lions Club International Inc.
If I was to walk in and due to the presence of this well-known gang that operates with both Police and Whakatane District Council protection, I would need personal security or a sharpened long handled steel implement equivalent to that that was used by a known gang member upon my person on the Maraetotara Reserve. [Currently only vested in the Whakatane District Council – Not owned by] Not forgetting I was your Bay of Plenty Conservation Board Chairperson at the time of these incidents [Note plural] This gang has its own pad, own regalia, ignores the law, puts up white burial crosses on the reserve, has three lawyers involved, two in the United States of America and one locally. As it mets out violence, [not forgetting the bullying and abuse] it so fits the description of a “gang”. Mostly white and supreme in belief. The money they receive from the Ohope Community should be spend where the Ohope Lions Club International Club Inc. say it is, & not unnecessarily on expensive lawyers.
You have been questioned by the Whakatane Police and as many as ten of your members been required to supply statements about an event that took place on the Maraetotara Reserve involving your use of a long handled sharpened steel implement upon my person. The N Z Police Whakatane branch advise that they “inadvertently” lost your statements [Yeah right!] However, as you provided them and they have an Official information Act 1982 request from me for them, re-provide them or show your continued disdain for the community you currently take your name from and the law and order that in the normal course of events would/could/should exist in Ohope Beach. It is not safe for me to walk the streets where your members move about or congregate. You should display a fit and proper willingness to cooperate again with the New Zealand Police and “resupply”, note “resupply”, your statements. What sort of moral breakdown exists in your minds to refuse to cooperate with the N Z Police? [For the readers clarification. The Police investigate criminal matters.] So, to this established “gang” go to your clubs and members files and hard drives and get your existing statements to the Police as they have egg all over their faces for supposedly, note supposedly, losing them in the first place. Supposedly, somewhere between “Rotorua and Whakatane.” The Police show a lacking the testicular fortitude to walk upstairs to the room above and alongside to where the exposed “gang” holds its monthly meeting, from tomorrow’s meetings, are going on, and collect these statements. “Seize” their records if need be. These statements provided by the Ohope Lions Club are needed for subsequent judicial proceeding So not only are this “gang” refusing to cooperate with the Police they are holding up other legal proceedings. Justice delayed is justice denied
Next, I went to the last Ohope Beach Community Board meeting in Whakatane [Imagine if you will the Ohope Community Board meeting in another town] and it was a shambles. I was given the fourth degree upon arriving and two thirds through my introduction, for my allowed 4-6 minutes, a Community Board member to my left, female, small of stature, middle aged, and with greying hair incredibly forgot her manners and rudely interrupted me. This was followed by a consistent period of interruption by all and sundry, when their ongoing and unaddressed failings where exposed, and from that you can conclude that the Chairwoman had lost all control of the meeting [The balance of other speakers were allowed to speak totally uninterrupted prior to taking questions from the assembled elected representatives]
This Ohope Community Board sham of a meeting was attended by our Mayor who will remain famous for all the wrong reasons when she spoke at the recent Anzac RSA breakfeast and spoke about respect for the women who had served. No mention of the 700 men who died daily plus another 1500 wounded daily in Northern France for starters. I repeat for starters.
At this last meeting of the Ohope Community Board I asked for copies of the minutes. Because they were not supplied at all, and certainly not in a timely matter, the matter now rests with the Minister of Local Government, Nanaia Mahuta and the Ombudsman Peter Boshier. Remember at this meeting at which this lawful request was made were all the members of the Ohope Community Board plus Mayor & Mayoral candidate Turner, Councillor and Mayoral candidate John Pullar and Councillor and Mayoral candidate Lesley Immink [there were some apologies]
I had tried to get Mayor Turner, Councillor’s Immink and Luca to provide me with the date that they gave the “special people” of the gated community permission to cut their own swath through protected dunes put down foundations followed by fences and wide enough for a decent sized bulldozer to utilise. Abject failure was the result by all three elected representatives.
I told the Ohope Community Board, Mayor & Councillors present that not all members of the public and Local Government election voters were allowed to go to the “Charty” They need to clean their ears out and listen. There is a perfectly good public hall, called the Ohope Beach hall available for public needs at which all, note all, persons can attend right next door. Shame on you for knowingly excluding a voter, ratepayer “Greenie” and rightfully concerned citizen
To summarise. How can it be other than you will have a cohort of candidates in front of you, in addition to applauding violence on the publicly owned Maraetotara Reserve [you can see it out the window now], only currently vested in the Whakatane District Council and most if not all of them cannot deny that they have no regard for the information that should be made readily available to the public or in the case of Mayor & Candidate J Turner and Councillors & Candidates Pullar and Immink are non-law-abiding elected representatives?
For clarity in my view a gang in Ohope Beach should be disbanded
I have asked Glen Smith the local radio station owner and manager personally and on his stations Facebook page some time ago to give us our two 15–30-minute talk back radio twice weekly times back but he is a fence sitter/ditherer. That is perhaps why his radio station is sometimes called one double cross?
If any of the candidates have god helping them making their mind up, please declare so as I don’t believe he exists and no one can show anyone else where he lives, doesn’t pay any rates or taxes and as such has no role in local government matters.
I remind you of the recent female Philipino Journalist & Nobel Prize winner Maria Resser who made famous the expression
“ Without facts, you can’t have truth. Without truth, you can’t have trust. Without trust, we have no shared reality, no democracy,”
I like “vigilance is the price of freedom” and “to do nothing about discrimination is to condone it”
Wake up Ohope Residents, get motivated, get registered and get voting
Also you cant just have a gang turning up and commencing developments on a public reserves or erecting a white cross like you would expect to find at a cemetery because you think it is ok. Just bullies the lot of you
Let’s see what the Minister and the Ombudsman have to say This is a smidgeon of what is available
To all the candidates [Regional Council candidates aside] I asked the following question.
Which of you would not resolve to have the Ohope Lions Club International Inc re-provide the statements they gave to the police as requested as a result of an event that took place on the Maraetotara Reserve on Pohutukawa Avenue to enable the N Z Police to comply with /adhere to the law of N Z?

Copy paste on send the following letter re Parliamentary Tauranga ByElection
C Beaumont, Friday 17/6/2022
The Acting President of the Ruling Council,
New Zealand Labour Party Inc,
P O Box 784, Email: [email protected]
Wellington. Attorney General: david.parker@parliament.govt.nz
Carole,
Complaint Re New Zealand Labour Party Incorporated Member Jan Tinetti
I herein lodge a complaint that New Zealand Labour Party Member Jan Tinetti has brought the New Zealand Party Incorporated into disrepute as a result of her refusal to answer questions directed to her by email on 10/5/22 and additionally hand delivered to her by myself on 23 May 2022 as a candidate in the Parliamentary By-Election for the electorate of Tauranga. This took place under the watchful eye of Commissioner Anne Tolley
These questions are valid and include the role of the current New Zealand Labour Party member and current Prime Minister Ms J Ardern
Because of the current Labour Party Candidates failure to answer questions as a Labour candidate in the Tauranga Parliamentary By-Elections these questions were on sent to the Prime Minister of New Zealand who has also failed/refused or both to answer these questions for Jan Tinetti and the New Zealand Labour Party. The Prime Minister is the “Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party”
It is necessary to again point out that Labour received at least one more additional formal nomination application with associated monetary fees supplied to the Prime Minister for the electorate candidate selection process This was supplied to the office of the Prime Minister due to the ongoing legal problems facing the new General Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party Robert Salmond of the Party office These problems at “Head Office” also include the current [but often General Secretary] Assistant General Secretary Diana Lacey in CIV-2020-012-000383 now transferred to the Wellington District Court under Judge Harrop
Secondly, at the Matua Bowling Club “meet the candidate’s event” on the evening of the 9th of June, candidate Tinetti who had been formally supplied by email and at that time also spoken to personally by myself about another serious matter involving the formal request of the now former President of the Labour Party’s Ruling Council Claire Czabo’s resignation. She claimed she had not checked her emails since the previous day. She has been asked to comment on Claires resignation but again refuses, fails or perhaps both
Thirdly candidate Tinetti also refused/failed or perhaps both to come out of Parliament and meet with the voters of New Zealand asking her to do so on the steps of Parliament This refusal to act in a reasonable manner by Candidate Tinetti again brings the New Zealand Labour Party into further into disrepute
This makes three times that candidate J Tinetti has brought the New Zealand Labour Party into immense and now exposed disrepute
Kindly acknowledge this complaint establishing the need for the Ruling Council to hold a hearing lead by Carole Beaumont and probably one other but this cannot be again the other Senior Vice President Tane Phillips of the Affiliates trade union movement of Kawerau as he is also refusing to answer correspondence currently
I am aware that precedent exists whereby fellow member Jan Tinetti can be “expelled” by the Ruling Council of the New Zealand Labour Party. This is what I am requiring the Council to rule
Candidate Tinetti shows little to no regard for the efforts put into achieving women’s representation in Parliament and in my view is at the helm of an exposed attempt to slap/tarnish/belittle/demean the image/face of Kate Shepherd. Silence by Kiwi women including the New Zealand Labour Party’s Women’s Sector Council reading this will show their complicity for current and future generations to see as well
All this is going on whilst candidate Tinetti is claiming to hold, with little tenure, the Warrant as the Minister for Women and Associate Education Minister with increased educational responsibilities as a result of the recent Cabinet reshuffle
Vice President Carole Beaumont please tell the public/voters & Labour Party Members etc of the Ruling Councils hearing date and time of your meeting Additionally this letter is to be regarded as “INWARD CORRESPONDENCE” for that due meeting. Please as a result of the next full Council meeting tell the public/voters and Labour Party members whether or not this will be removed to the Constitutional Committee of unknown persons. If so please name them in your reasonably expected press release
Candidate Tinetti will be sent a copy of this Complaint and is herein asked to publicly comment immediately before this Saturday voting booths open. The other Candidates will also be provided with a copy, asked to comment and in particular National’s Sam Uffindell who is definitely asked to comment publicly or display for all time his complicity in such matters of Law & Order
Your faithfully,
Gordon J Dickson, AAMINZ, MNZIQS Co-Chair NCOMONZ & “Life Member” of the New Zealand Labour Party – Membership # 4503983 since 1986

N Z Parliamentary By Election Tauranga Prime Minister Ms J Ardern
PRESS RELEASE, Sunday 15/5/2022
Re – Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern
This relates to the Parliamentary election, being specifically a “By-Election” being held currently in the eastern coastal city of Tauranga, in the province of the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
This is an extract from a letter addressed to and receipted as being in the possession of the N Z Labour Party Prime Minister of New Zealand Ms Jacinda Ardern
“My letter to Rachel is to be tabled as an item of “Inward Correspondence” in Labour Party M P’s Caucus, a member of which you are Ms Ardern.
It is with regret that I require you to explain to me and the voters in this Parliamentary By-Election in Tauranga of the difficulties facing our candidate, Jan Tinetti. In the observed absence of Jan’s response then I ask you to answer the questions for her as the Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party
You can see from the attached letter Labours current candidate Jan Tinetti was asked some six public questions on the tenth morning of May 2022 well after she was announced as the current candidate for Labour. It is now into the 15th of May and still no response from Labours dishonourable Candidate. This is embarrassing to the Parliament & the New Zealand Labour Party in front of the voters, men, women and children alike. We are now into the 6th day of silence from Labours current Candidate Tinetti
In the list of six provided questions there are references to yourself Ms Ardern.
Hence you are best placed, given Jan’s lack of commitment and understanding as to what is expected of her in a role as the Labours Party’s current candidate in a Parliamentary By-Election, to answer these six simple questions.
If you decline this opportunity please tell me so I can tell the voters whether you were unable or unwilling to do so please Ms Ardern?”
From Gordon J Dickson Candidate in the Tauranga By-Election of Ohope Beach, Bay of Plenty New Zealand.

“No Jab No Job” Debate/Forum Dunedin New Zealand
It is with pleasure that I report that the intended “No Jab No Job” debate took place tonight as advertised at the Roslyn Bowling Club in Roslyn, Dunedin, New Zealand However it was in the form of a group discussion involving all but one of the 16 attendees But that is “all good”
Started at 630 p m and finished at 9 pm
The debate was required to be changed to one of a discussion forum due to the withdrawal late this week of the anti vax proponent and invited debater Mr Lee Vandervis. Despite my trying nationwide radio talkback, Facebook oops Meta, volunteer firemen etc I was unable to find a replacement
There were views espoused from both sides of the vaccination debate and from all parts of the globe with many international experiences brought forward
The two issues upon which agreement was reached by all in attendance were
One the level, accuracy and dissemination of the information on the Covid vaccine was not good enough
Secondly, this vaccination issue was divisive
It was wonderful and encouraging to see so many young people turn up and speak
The University of Otago Faculty of Law newly led by the Dean Shelley Griffith were formally asked to provide input. Sadly none of the Law School staff attended and therefore failed to contribute
The discussion was civil and respectful
Everyone enjoyed themselves and the intended theme of listening to the other points of view prevailed throughout. We all went away better informed, with things to think about, research and from that point of view the meeting was a success
Finally, for me the one thing that stood out and it is that our children will be the ones that suffer most
