OtagoUniversityStudentsAssociationElections’17

Election Officers Donna, Kyla President Hugh et al,

This is what really happens during an OUSA election at the University of Otago.
One. I get an email from the Proctor Dave Scott whom says he wants to call upon his office. I ask by email what for. He says by email he doesnt want to discuss the matter by email. I say by email do I need to bring a lawyer and is the matter criminal or civil? He says by email neither?? (Didnt now there were other kinds till now) So I ask OUSA to attend who say they cant as I am a candidate unless I get permission. So I goes to the Proctors office and he is not available. So I goes to OUSA whom are out. So I goes back to the Proctor myself and he interrogates me for almost ten minutes but refuses to say what he wants to see me for at all. I explained to him that he was the one who asked me to come and he was the one who wouldnt put wouldn’t put pen to paper and after being cross examined for almost ten minutes I still was really none the wiser as to why I was there . I tells him he is bound by the Official Information Act and by not coming out with the truth at this time he would have to be answerable to an Act of Parliament and additionally risked bringing the name of the University of Otago into disrepute both here and internationally. Still he wouldn’t tell me what I was sequestered for. So the application under the Official Information Act 1982 is now in the office off Chancellor John Gray
Two. As all the candidates know I found a sponsor to put $200 for an after the election results were announced social gathering with a few beers and some grub.
The money was duly delivered a long time ago to the OUSA CEO Deborah in cash. Now I get an email just now saying they have done nothing whatsoever and it is up to me to do it What is wrong with a small celebration at the end of a hard fought campaign Chance to congratulate the winners and thank those who got less than first? Other Universities have such similar events annually. I dont even know where the money has gone to now ???????? Where does on get a Liquor licence in less than 60 minutes – Online?
Three. Next I am told just now the OUSA will not allow scrutineers to ensure the vote count is open and transparent as it should be in a truly democratic country like New Zealand.
Four. I have been to the Faculty of Law previously to seek some Constitutional advice but the shutters went up faster than you can say “Jack Robinson”
Five. I went to Critic to ask them to cover the defection of one of the Unity Party members but they told me that they couldnt talk to me, I had best leave the building, would not be covering the defection and hence have become an advocate for the Unity’s party and hence have influenced the outcome of the election. This despite the statement of the Returning officer team
“Critic has full media independence”

Welcome to the University of Otago where the motto states “Dare to be wise”

Today is “Fathers Day” and to all you every second, third, fourth weekend and worse off access wise fathers keep in touch with your children Do not forget birthdays and Christmas either please. Seems highly likely you can get school reports to. I did but by accident initially Kia kaha

The family court decisions need reviewing and analysing so we can see if the aim of the children being placed  first is true or false

Anyone seeing candidates Bill English, Jacinda Adern, James Shaw, Winston Peters, David Seymour, Te Ururoa Flavell, Gareth Morgan, Hone Harawira etc ask them for their Party’s policy please and post it?

Christchurch District Court

My first attempt in Court for a while in front of a District Court Judge. Decision reserved and eagerly awaited. Interviewed outside by the waiting media. Of particular interest will be on the ability of papers within the possession of the parties to be able to be utilised for a proposed Moot here at the University of Otago in our Moot Court as part of acceptable “discourse” here at “OU”.  Perhaps even being acceptable as an examination question per chance. Bit of IPENZ, ACENZ, AMINZ, Candidates et al. Mmmmmmph?????

University of Otago Students Association Elections 2017

The OUSA President and the ruling Committee should and well could have announced the date of the student body elections by now.

This act has afforded the incumbents with a huge advantage and our supposed Critic is simply sitting on the sidelines applauding this untenable abuse of the democratic process by a small number of purported representatives

Perhaps the Critic team should extract the reasons from OUSA for this interference in the democratic process. I see “UC” has announced its elections already

University of Otago by comparison

I see a University of Waikato student taking the government to court over Seal Level Rise
What are my fellow Otago University students doing ?
Please see a link to my sea level rise efforts
Also I have had an advert up in three places in the University of Otago Faculty of Law looking to employ a legal assistant or e.a but seems no one wants to work as I have not been swamped with applications. If you work you get experience. Flash

Jobs for Dunedin, Otago???

The need to retain jobs in our region is not disputed. Recently I went and visited the Wests Soft Drinks and Cordial factory in “South D” and after speaking to the owner sent him an email with a view to him retailing his products here on campus at the University of Otago I do not like Coke anyways and prefer Sarsaparilla Some products are already used in the accommodation Halls Alas no response although as a minimum the OUSA would support such a move even if it was to put drink dispensers in their various buildings. Do we want to work or not? We simply must support our local produce. At least I tried, are you?

“Settled Caucus”, Andrew Little LLB/ N Z Labour Party’s Ruling Council

Forgive me if I am mistaken but did Andrew Little LLB not tell the N Z public, voters and Party Members alike that he had a “settled Caucus” Seems what he said then is  not what has transpired with first Phil Goff,  David Shearer, David Cunliffe and with no public statements from the Party’s ruling Council telling the public, voters and party members alike that this is the final resignation.
We are in opposition and have been for almost a decade now We need new ideas and those coming from the Sector Councils must be listened to from now on and not ignored as has been the practice in the past
As can be seen from below Jacinda Ardern has no comment to make on the “Rules of Natural Justice”

Ohope Beach, Bay of Plenty and another year with little change

To my fellow Ohope Beach residents, Ohope Chartered Club Inc. members  and visitors

1 Myself , the NZ Police department in Whakatane and surely my fellow Ohope Chartered Club Incorporated members, including my fellow “Foundation Member”s all await the outcome of the committees unnecessarily and unjustly delayed deliberations after yet another incident of absolutely appalling, witnessed by four, threatening behaviour. Alcohol is purely and simply a drug being peddled from the currently licensed premises and causes lots of problems in our community including domestic violence and hardship amongst children in Ohope Beach

It is high time the “Foundation” members stepped up to the acting club official of an unclear status and member Trevor Hart, the other current committee members and said surely you are doing all you can to help the N Z Police with their enquiries. Apathy is not the answer.

The truth will out

2 It is also high time the Ohope Beach Lions Club International Incorporated re-provided the N Z  Police with copies of their numerous statements relating to their blood letting behaviour on the Maraetotara Reserve. It is not to hard to press print or make a photocopy. You are or were a service group. Now it is known the N Z Police have “inadvertently” lost (or cant/don’t want to  find) your many statements not once but twice then you also must want to be seen to be helping the N Z Police with their enquiries.

3 It is also not appropriate that our National Party Cabinet Minister Mrs Anne Tolley utilises the Maraetotatara Reserve for access for residential dwelling construction works involving tradies vehicles and material deliveries. Still more reason not to trust our Members of Parliament.

M P Anne should lead by example not exhibition.

Anne you have been twice challenged to debate with me in the Ohope Hall and at best you can be described as cowering away

4 Currently an application is with a legally funded “Foundation” so we can see for all times if our Mayor Anthony Bonne can be forced to plead to criminal charges  relating to his election success. The legal opinion from the Crown law office is nigh due also. He should just do the right thing but has been asked by me to resign and wont.

Those whom continually vote for Mayor Bonne should have a good long look at yourselves in the mirror

5 I contested the last Parliamentary Election for Labour in the Selwyn Electorate and compared to the two no win opportunities in the 1990’s it was “filthy” and once my “status” has been resolved within the New Zealand Labour Party’s Constitutional arrangements involving my fellow party members Geoffrey Palmer, Paul Tolich as well as two other “LLB’s” so all members are treated the same and Caucus members including the M P for Hutt South Trevor Mallard (and many others)  are not treated differently, perchance another attempt is on the cards? I told Andrew Little when we meet at the University of Canterbury to clean out his “settled” Caucus or I would do it for him. As can be seen they are jumping before being pushed.

The world is changing both environmentally and politically

Time to make up your mind Do you want to be a winner like Donald or a loser like Hillary?

“No Nukes”, Ohope Chartered Club Incorporated “Foundation Member # 428”  and NZ Labour Party Member # 450393 since the 1980″s
